Not staying idle,
yesterday I began looking at Step 6. Hummm…
“Were entirely
ready to have God remove all these defects
of character.”
That’s nice; one
just has to get ready and willing then let
God have his way.
It’s not like I
have to remove this “stuff” by myself,
though the step does teach me to firmly turn
my back on the old self-destructive
behaviors and make every effort to act and
live by God’s principles.
Truthfully I’ve
tried for years to change things about
myself that needed worked on and slowly,
through God’s guidance, I’ve been led me
down the yellow brick road of growth and
change. So God’s does it, I just have to
cooperate.
I think I can keep
on that route, knowing God is driving.
Ha! Old Tobit was
really taking a hit from his wife in this
morning’s scripture.
He was a good man,
but apparently could be an old growley bear
at home. Most of us, if we are honest, (which,
by the way, is KEY to Step 6)
know that it is
with the people we love and trust the most
where we let our hair down and sometimes are
not as helpful,
appreciative or
attentive as we could be.
That’s being
nice. We too can be growley bears at
home.
So I guess it’s
about getting willing and turning to God
saying, “Have at it, God, mold me and make
me…”
It’s
a rough ride with you sometimes, God.
Grin…But the scenery is great and I love the
companionship.
Have at it…I may
be holding on kind of tight
but I’m willing.
